NEW 2026 Design

For the first time since their introduction 33 yeas ago, our NameTrains cars are getting an update. After a long and thoughtful process we are making several changes, for both modern production reasons and improved aesthetics. We biggest thing you will notice is a metal axle and hubcap system that will enhance their rolling performance.

We are staging out the change, over time, across our national network. A growing share of our retail dealers has the new style, and the swaps will continue throughout 2026.

What are the key changes?

• New metal axle system for easier rolling.
• Laser cut shapes (leading to a dark edge).
• Better letter definition, including an etched “bottom” to the letters.
• New, brighter colors in water-based finishes.

What doesn’t change?

• Still made from hard maple, including the wheels themselves.
• Still made in USA, with some imported non-wood parts.
• Still the same size and general design.
