In contrast to many other spiders, they do not spin a web, but lay in wait for their prey – especially frogs, mice and birds. People don’t have to be afraid of them. Tarantulas may have a strong bite, but they are good-natured, and their venom is weaker than that of bees. 

White-Tailed Buck Dimensions: 4.1 x 1.8 x 4.1 inch. White-tailed bucks are very shy animals. When they get scared, they wave their tails back and forth. If there is indeed a predator nearby, the deer stretch their tails upwards. The white fur that gives them their name becomes clearly visible. The biggest enemies of the white-tailed deer are wolves, coyotes, pumas, bears, alligators and jaguars.

White-Tailed Doe Dimensions: 3.4 x 1.4 x 3.3 inch. White-tailed does can see and hear very well, but rely mainly on their sense of smell and their speed. They are very agile and can sprint up to 48 km/h. Their grey-brown winter coat isn’t just camouflage against predators. Because the hairs are hollow, they also store body heat very efficiently. 

White-Tailed Fawn Dimensions: 2.0 x 0.8 x 2.1 inch. White-tailed fawns have lots of small white spots on their fur. These serve as camouflage, since the dots make them harder to spot in high grass. When its mother is off looking for food, the white-tailed fawn hides in the tall grass. It stretches out flat on the ground, even laying its head and neck down flat.

Wolf Dimensions: 4.1 x 0.8 x 2.0 inch. It is said that wolves howl at the moon, but their sounds actually serve to communicate with each other. By howling, they want to draw the attention of the other pack members to something important, call them to hunt together, or try to drive away wolves that don’t belong to the pack.
