I ordered the wool crusher hat for hunting. I had been looking for this hat for some time. I found a few others but price was prohibitive.
When I saw the hat it brought back memories. This was “standard” wear growing up in Oregon and I really missed the availability. There once was a time when this was the only hat “respectable” hunters wore and usually wore it year round. This is one hat that can’t be replaced.
Advantages: High vizability for hunting
Get it wet and shape and/or fit
Keeps your head warm and dry on those cold days
“Classic” look
Doesn’t make noise in the brush
Full brim, protects eyes, ears, and neck
Comfortable to wear or stick in your pocket
Felt will hold a two month supply of dry flies, wets, nymphs, and streamers also
Disadvantages: A little heavy when wet

It is exactly what you would expect – the wool is approx. 3/32″ thick thereabouts, holds a shape, fits according to the chart. For folks that don’t know – it’s not a structured hat, the brim is very soft. But for what it is – it’s great.

This store is built like the old country store where you can pretty much find anything you need. They have expanded to... a new gas station and opened up the basement, you go in and it seems like it just goes on and on. They also have another level above the main one. I've eaten at their deli and it is very tasty food. Definitely stop here the next time you come by, you won't regret it.read more

This store has EVERYTHING!!!!! It is unassuming from the outside but so very cool on the inside. It's a grocery store,... clothing store, liquor store, gift shop all in one. Huge general store in Dorset, VT. Clean, plenty of restrooms, and great local product selection. Went above & beyond by... holding a case of beer for me since I was coming from ~1 hour away. Probably my favorite store I've been in. We love how there's some of everything. We have family in town, so we only... stop when passing through, but we very much wish we had one similar, near home. The older part of the store has so much character and history within the building itself. The new addition fits very well with the old. The only drawback is the parking out front was a bit chaotic, if I could even call it that. A few more spots, and a bit more distance between the front spots and the fuel pumps would've been better, however, at not peak hours, this would be no issue at all.read more

This store was like an oasis in the desert. I was in desperate need of gas and lunch on a long work drive from Western... Massachusetts to Burlington. I happened upon it at the perfect time on route 30. I found a delicious turkey sandwich and an oatmeal cookie with white chocolate and cranberries. The ladies at the front counter were very nice. The bathroom was clean. To top it all off I even had cell phone reception in the parking lot so was able to return work calls while eating.
