Excellent quality. A very good mid weight wool pant. Fit was as expected and I appreciated the odd waist size (33"). Bought them for hunting elk and deer in Idaho so didn't really care if they were pretty enough for the country club. These are outdoor pants.

Advantages: USA made. Warm. Very comfortable. Great for late November hunting in north Idaho in rain and snow. I would highly recommend these pants and will buy them again when needed.

Disadvantages: I bought these to replace my worn out Cabela's Superwash whipcords. These are heavier and less adaptable to warmer mid October elk hunts in central Idaho. Not sure the oz rating from one manufacturer to the next means much. Expensive but USA made quality cost. Deal with it or buy army surplus.

I was very happy to find such a well-made pair of wool pants and even happier that they were made in the US. They performed very well during a winter camping trip in far northern Wisconsin. I plan to buy a thicker and/or lined pair of Johnson Wool pants for windy, sub-zero weather.

Advantages: Very good fit - not baggy like some cheap knockoffs
Pockets are deep and roomy, yet cut so their contents don't fall out
Warm!
Rugged!

Disadvantages: None, really. The fabric in this style is loose enough to ventilate well, so they're not the best for deep subzero weather / strong wind. Go for a heavier fabric and/or a lined style for that.

Such beautiful quality! I bought these for my husband and they are classics. I was looking for something similar in other shops and am so glad to have found these. They look like they'll last for years.

The shortest length this came in was 30" so I had to hire a seamstress to make it short enough for me (28 1/2"). They are heavy and warm and very welcome this winter. I like the look of the fabric but someone just commented to me that they were not very stylish. No matter.

Advantages: Very warm

Disadvantages: Itchy. Needs to be worn with some kind of lining. Not very stylish.

These pants are a great find. I've used them for cold weather hiking and cross country skiing all day in single-digit F temperatures.

Advantages: Heavy weight fabric but roomy enough to be active, with a pretty close fit at the waist.

Disadvantages: You wouldn't want to carry them around unless you expect to need them.
